School is quickly approaching. This year is one of first. First year of high school (how did that happen). First year of a new school year. So our family is experiencing a mixture of nerves and excitement.
As a mom, it’s crazy to imagine that he is a freshman. He’s super ready and we look forward to this next chapter, but it’s still a little hard to believe. He’s grown so much in the last year. I mean, he now looks down on both of us, surpassing daddy about 6 months ago. But he also matured and is starting to find his passion (did anyone say fishing).
Lucky for him that he gets to continue his quest at Archmere. We made the decision to go private. It was a year of figuring out which school to attend. And we found Archmere at the very end. It is such a great fit. The school is ranked in the top ten percent of the nation for college prep. But equally important for us, it’s a smaller, more intimate class size that has a huge emphasis on sports.
We’ve spent our week down there learning about the school. It’s going to be challenging but we know he’s got a great support system. We’ll make our way through it one step at a time. He starts next week. It’s a fun time and we can’t wait to watch him grow.
