So, we are officially in the grind of baseball season. Here he is walking to his second practice of the week. The boy really does love this game.

Last week, we played against a former teammate, Max. Great kid. We didn’t get the win.. but that’s not why there is no smile. The boy gobbled down a donut minutes before…and that donut has a funny back story.

Last year, when we were scheduled with an early game and then a later game (if we won the first), one of the parents bought donuts. It didn’t go well and we lost…the coaches were not happy that the boys got donuts after a loss. And sure enough, the donut jinks continues. We watched as the coaches were animated with the boys with their no effort play.. and then Christine snuck in to offer donuts. It was a funny site of the tormented soul debating whether to take a donut. But alas, the donuts won out and they gobbled them down. Let’s hope with the next early morning donut purchase, we break that cycle.
