Last weekend was a good one. Yes, still super cold outside but this team has been on fire. Good group of kids that really do play as a team. Z struggled a bit pitching on Sunday, but he kept trying and had a level head on the mound. I’d never bet against this kid.

He also willed a hit in the game against the Hurricanes. The only one for the game. After Trev walked and the stole second, Z came up and quickly went to two strikes. Weirdly, that’s when he really hones in. He took a down and away pitch and smacked into the right gap. Trev scored and we won. Fun weekend, for sure.

And then this happened on Monday. The boy during gym jumped up to high five someone and twisted his ankle. It’s been a week of trying to get it better by icing, resting and stretching. Luckily, it’s a low grade sprain but he’s still a bit stiff.

In other news, it was Take Your Kid To Work Day. This may be his last year doing so he wanted to go.

Gone are the days of trucks and Play Doh in the office. Now it’s all about where are we going to eat, which we did with my friends Chris and Vera. Vera came into the city since she’s retired.

Anyway, it was a fun day to spend with him. I relish these days because he’s getting older. But it’s pretty cool to see him navigate the city.

And maybe, just maybe, we have a future boss man in the family.
