It’s been a minute since I lasted posted. I really don’t know how that much time escaped us. It’s been a busy time, no doubt.

Hard to imagine, but Zachary heads to high school next year. At first, we thought he would stay with his local public school. A chance encounter with a neighbor changed the narrative. For over a year, Zachary wanted to go to St. Joe Prep, an all boys school in the city. We all fell in love with it. But, as we considered the logistics of getting there some concerns were raised.

So off we went on a dreary Friday morning to take an entrance exam at Archmere, as a late enrollment. He interviewed the same day. We really didn’t have any expectations that he would be accepted due to our late candidacy. As luck would have it, that Monday morning we got an email that he was in.

This started, what I can only call a pressure cooker ready to erupt, as school deadlines were on Friday. All week, we debated the pros and cons. Each night, he came up with a different answer. Finally on Friday night, he made the decision for Archmere. That resulted in a wave of emotions in turning down the Prep.

By morning, I think we are all feeling a little unsure. So we made the decision to head down and really check out their campus. And when I say campus, this school is beautiful and equipped with a college level quad and facilities.

Suddenly the weight of the world evaporated and the boy found his place. Life can be full of twist and turns but there is so much to learn about ourselves in the journey. We’re incredibly proud of his achievement and look forward to where this next journey takes him.
