Well, we ran into a bit of an issue Sunday morning. Grandma and I went to shower and came backed to everyone out of the RV, except the dog, and a dead bolted RV. With no way to get in, we were pretty screwed. Luckily, Mom Mom asked whether the windows were open, which led to the discovery the driver door was unlocked. Good because we got in…bad because we could have been stolen, lol. It’s hard RVin y’all when your novices. Lesson learned…bring keys everywhere.
After that adventurous morning, we headed to West Glacier. First stop was the visitor center to get acclimated.
We then stopped at Apgar for lunch. Perfect place for it along Lake McDonald. If I haven’t mentioned it, we have both sets of grandparents with us. Makes for an incredible experience. We spent time throwing rocks in the lake. Turns out daddy is pretty good at finding flat rocks to skips. Me, I like the clunkers to make big splashes.
We then joined the masses to tour Going to the Sun Road. Just incredible vista points everywhere and plenty of photo opportunities. We made it all the way to Logan’s Pass.
On the way back, we were fortunate to find parking along Trail of the Cedars. Cute little boardwalk style walking path. We kind of left the grandmas in the dust, but they passed their first test…finding the way out and back to the car.
I’ll leave this day with just the beauty of West Glacier. A mom and dawn walking across the trail. Followed by a picture of God shedding a single ray of light on a plant. Breathtaking and awe inspiring.
