I’m not going to lie, it’s been a busy couple of weeks. As we close out the summer season, life, at times, has become a whirlwind. So here’s the highlights of the last couple of weeks, since I missed a few.
We spent a week down at Nags Head with the family. Thank you to the grandparents for providing a fun week. There were many laughs, good food, puzzle time, grocery runs, fishing, disc golf, and overall lasting memories. With a crew like this, how can there not be a good time.
Next up, a baseball game in Delaware to watch a Mustard user. Really cool to see him doing well. Since our game he got called up to the next level.
Then there was the NPA clinic with Tom House. During his opening talk, Tom stopped mid-sentence to say ”aren’t you on my Wed call.” Pretty cool he recognized Z.
The best part was Tom telling everyone get ready for boring mechanics when they showed his film. Z became the perfect Mustard mechanic kid. That was a fun three days, so much learning. We learned that he is hitting his current Stat based on his variables…but with lower body work, he could hit 70.
Mom couldn’t resist getting a FO when he signed the baseball. He tells so many great SC training stories.
I’ll end with this. The kids did a bullpen, on a hot, humid day. Right there in the middle of it was Tom. The kids taking in everything that he said…including the comment if it whistles all the way to the plate, it’s 90 and above. I’ve never been that close to a pitcher throwing that hard, it’s electric. I told Z as we were leaving. He’s an extremely lucky boy and my hope, for him, is that he finds something that he loves as much as Tom loves to teach pitching. It’s a labor of love to him.
