I feel the need for speed. Everyone see this innocent (or not so innocent) face. Really, the wild hair and equally wild demeanor should have been my first clue. This guy led a revolt this morning on our walk. Like Patton waiting on the perfect moment to attack, he laid his trap. I managed to get tangled with the three dog. Just when I thought I was in the clear, the boy sprung into action. He took off sprinting across the back park. I took off in pursuit, only to find Reecie, running behind me. We dashed across the back after a deer. Somehow we ended up in the woods and I lost him. Thats when fear and exhaustion set in. In a minor miracle, he came out of the woods and sprinted away from me again. Reecie in hot pursuit. I really did think it was the end. But the good boy came storming back toward me with Reecie right behind. I collapsed to the ground with relief. Get a male, she said. They’re easier, she said.
In other male news, the boy started workouts at a new facility. Last night was the best one yet. They pitched off the mound. Brought up Zachary first. The boy continues to evolve. Last spring, we bought a boxed strike zone for him to throw to specific points. And he hated it. He couldn’t even hit the box let alone a specific point. There were many tantrum but he kept trying. Well, last night he threw into one and did fairly well. He was timed at 55-56mph. That is right on average for his age group but he threw by far the hardest in the group. And the pitching coach was super excited. They aren’t used to seeing a low three quarter slot arm. He also hit a lot. One bomb went soaring across the field and was high and rising. The first week is in the books and it is safe to say this boy is putting in work.
Finally, Zachary started with his spacers. It was a little rough the first couple of days but hes starting to feel better. Ladies, in 18 months this guy will swoon you with his perfect smile.
