Week in Rewind: Feb 4

This week is about new beginnings. We’ve known for awhile that Zachary needs braces. Yesterday he went in for his consultation. Everything went well except that he needs a spacer to move teeth before he can get braces. When the lady asked if he would be willing to have that done now, his face was full of apprehension. Give the boy credit, he went for it

We now officially have a tween with metal in his mouth. As you can imagine this brought up food issues He has to eat soft foods for 3 days. Cant wait for that to be over. There isnt enpugh pudding in the world to fill this hungry boy

Its also been a bit of an adventure with baseball training. We thought we found the perfect trainer. Worked with him for 2 months and then suddenly he ghosted us. After a month of no word from the trainer, we got the message and started looking. It really is hard finding good trainers down here. Just when we were down, a firm across the bridge came into view. We went last night for an evaluation. The place is unreal. Modern, tons of space, technology and trainers for all aspects of baseball. They started him out with their sports performance trainer. This is an area we know he needs improvement. I mean he does run like a baby giraffe at times. Next up was pitching . This trainer is a recent Columbia grad in biometrical training. Hecame up to talk and said he looks good. He started go say Zachary drops his elbow. Thats when we told him he works with Tom House. The expression said it all, his eyes became massive and he said ”the REAL Tom House” Yep, that guy. He just kept saying wow. Next up batting, this trainer said he’s got a great swing just need clean ip his bottom half a bit. It was well worth the trip on a foggy night. What I loved about it a local college team was in working along with several high school kids. Zachary needs to be around that type of environment. So he’s officially enrolled in a monthly training session that works on everything. And the best part, this place split from MSI and has travel teams. You never know where new beginnings take you.
