Week in Rewind: Dec 1, 2021

Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving. There is plenty to be thankful in this household.

There was all hands on deck for food preparation. Luckily, Great Grandmom made the gravy… although someone at the last minute tried to claim credit, lol.

Daddy carved up the Turkey and we all are very well fed.

Afterward we shared a lovely conversation with Great Grandmom covering her life. Blessed to have this conversation. It was a fun day filled with good food, family and fun conversations. Blessed

Someone was also super lucky to be on a Zoom conference call with real life Dodgers. They spent a half hour talking about their holiday plans and discussing the past season. Someone was super happy when JT hopped on the call. Pretty cool of these guys and head coach, Dave Roberts, to do for their fan base. And yes, it’s true, the boy is all aboard the Dodger train.

We’ve been blessed with the occasional warm fall day. On one such day, the old girl was feeling her oats. The pups blew by her and the next then you know she was chasing after them. Mattie, my baby girl, still has the spin moves.

And finally, the day mommy has been waiting on for 10 long years has arrived. It started with the firing of the worst coach in SC’s history. It’s been a long 2 months since that time. The quiet search had everyone worried. Rumors that we had been turned down multiple times and we’re on our level three coaches, quickly approaching level four retread level.

And then Sunday, Michael texted to say Feldman was told SC was pursuing Lincoln Riley. I responded when cows fly. He had just turned down LSU, no way SC gets him. But the smoke continued to flame. And by mid-afternoon it began to leak that he was our guy. In a quick 24 hours, Riley decided to leave for SC. When Rick Caruso’s private jet picked him up in Oklahoma at 6am, the Trojan Family rejoiced. Finally, the energy around the team is PC level. We are all on cloud nine. This guy is the real deal. I told Zachary that I can’t wait to show him big game Trojan football. So much fun. As Colin Cowerd said, there isn’t a better venue in LA when SC is winning. We back baby. It’s a great day to be a Trojan!
