Week in Rewind Oct 1

September, I barely even know you. In a flash you were gone. Gone are the long, hot days of summer. Instead, we’ve settled into cooler mornings and milder days. We’ve stayed busy on this end. The pups continue their quest to take down all the rabbit. Kill the wabbit. Kill the wabbit. Fortunately for them, there are several running around our back yard. Unfortunate for them, a glass door separates them.

Zachary is finally getting his routine down with school. We’re usually up before seven for daddy and him to work on pre-algebra. That’s a fun conversation some mornings, lol, but nonetheless they continue on. Last night, we went to Zachary’s back to school night. It’s pretty cool when a teacher says your kid is wonderful and part of a dynamic duo that answers questions. Yay!

Baseball continues on. The big difference, the coaches now know that Zachary can pitch. They put him in, as the third pitcher, and the boy looked like Liam Hendrick out there, full of confidence and toughness. Finally. Last weekend, he started a game and did okay. He only pitched 53 percent strikes but that is because the finally two innings he dropped velocity because his arm was tired. He did have 6 strike outs, including one nasty one that involved a filthy curve ball. Still things to work on, but it’s a start.

In other news, we did a team outing to the Phillies game. The boys had a blast. Can you tell which kid was living his best life?? The Phillies won too. Although, the stinkers blew their chances to get into the playoffs. Uncle Michael has accomplished the impossible. He, and his mom, have converted the boy, to root for the Dodgers. And when a kid at school questioned that love, he simply said “they have way more goats and win rings”. True dat…although I’m not so sure about this year. We shall see.

Finally, we have a non baseball weekend. We intend to take full advantage. Bright, beautiful skies ahead.
