Today, we started off with a long walk on the Mickelson Trail. Turns out the trail is an old railroad track. Pretty trail, we found lots of interesting rock. I’m always looking for my hearts from Larry and I found two.
Next we headed over to Lake Pactolus, intending to paddle board. When we got there, we saw Pontoon Boats that could be rented. And luck would have it, good old Captain Lin was at the helm. But unfortunately just as we got on the boat, a nasty thunderstorm was on us. We made a mad dash to the car as thunder and heavy rain fell.
But as look would have it, the skies cleared after an hour and Captain Lin was back at the helm. She was on the Chesapeake almost every summer as a teenager and learned to drive boats. And just like riding a bike, it all came back. She was insanely good maneuvering us all over the lake.
When the boys wanted to tube, she raced across making wake for them. But the best part for all of us when Dad got wet from a wake boarders wave. His face when the cold water hit him was priceless. Just wish we had a picture.
The boys didn’t seem to mind the cold. After the storm, the temperature dropped to 64 degrees. They hopped into the water as if it was nothing.
I’m having a hard time loading pictures, but I promise these will make an appearance when the internet connection is better.
