Badlands

Today we headed to the very hot Badlands. It was 96 degrees. Incredible pictures of pink and yellow hued rocks.

The boys climbed up to the top of yellow mound.

Zachary finished another junior ranger program and earned his badge.

We had lunch at the visitor center where we watched a woman driving a tour van make multiple attempts to back out of of a tight spot. Giving up, she rammed it in gear and went over the curb. We all watched in amazement.

We also had a cute game of nicknames.

Mike…White Penguin, named for his white sandals.

Cameron, Big Timba

Zachary, Little Sky

Grandma, Golden Eagle Eye

Grandpa, Sitting Bull

Pop Pop, Rush No More

Mom Mom, Little Prairie Dog

We then went to Wall Drugs, an incredible series of stores. We did a quick bit of shopping. Zachary got army men to do his stop motion.

We ended up a Long Horn SteakHouse and had ourselves some amazing steak. It’s dad’s birthday so he got a free chocolate birthday cake.
