Today, we went to the Norris Geyser Basin. This area is one of the most active and studied part of Yellowstone.
Sadly, the Steamboat Geyser, which can erupt from 4 days to 50 years did not erupt. That happened 19 days ago, but it was pretty cool to see. In other news, Mom Mom got wet from a geyser spray. I’m pretty sure she smells of sulfur…but in RV life the smells kind of blend together.
We also saw the minute geyser and several others in a mile walk around the geysers.
Our next stop was Gibbons Fall. We’ve been passing this area for a couple of days. It was neat to actual stop and see it.
We’ve been dealing with smoke from the fires out west. It’s left a haze over the area and we’ve been feeling it in our nose. We’ve also been catching the Olympics at night. As for RV life, we’ve worked our way into a routine. Yes, it can be tight corridors at times but we usually do more laughing than screaming. And bonus, last night during our walk we ran into 3 cavaliers…including a 3 month black m ran who looked like JuJu. We had nice long talk. When I told her, our first cav named Trojan recently passed, she laughed and said her neighbor has a dog named Bruin. Clearly, my baby got the better name. It’s been tough not having the pups, but I know Mark is taking great care of them, especially Mattie.
Tonight on the agenda..a rodeo. Giddy Up Everyone, we’re going cowboy!
