This one was on my bucket list and did not disappoint. Beauty and raging power everywhere.
We started on the lower rim. The view was amazing, especially Artist Point. Oh the views. They are hard to describe, God’s paint brush.
And we got pictures of the men and women of Yellowstone. Not a bad looking crew.
We took a walk to a lower trail which offered even better views.
We then geared ourself for a hike to a look out at the Upper Rim. A long walk down and even bigger walk up. Now one would think that we would have been deterred by people gasping for air as they ascended. But not the Buchta/Heid Clan, born of sturdy stock. The views again were fabulous
But alas after contemplating the meaning of life, the blessed ascension loomed above us. Slowly we made our way up the massive mountain side, with what can only be described as “pure pain’. Step by step we made it. Really impressive for the grandparents to do it. It was not easy but the views made it worth it.I just hope tomorrow all of us can move.
