There’s a lot to be said regarding the process of growing up. The joys and tribulations of that process. Many will argue that we should be always growing as a person. We experienced a little bit of growth this week.
Someone has quickly developed her big girl tail. Cavs, if you aren’t aware, aren’t born with their beautiful, feathery tail. Instead, they arrive with a tightly knit one that takes time to unravel. It really is one of the signature features of the Cavalier. Within the last week, Little Miss Reecie’s tail has begun to unravel. She’s a big tail wagger….and when really happy, that tail wags her entire backend. Soon, she’ll have the full tail to wag around like a proud peacock.
Speaking of growth, it was proven this week that you can (kind of) teach old dogs new tricks. The dog trainer finally got to meet the pups. Bella was front and center. We now have to walk her the opposite direction whenever she starts to pull or bark, at anything. It did work when the dog trainer walked her…..with us, it’s more of a shall we say challenge. At times, it can seem like you are walking in a straight line, back and forth….not really making any progress. But alas, we are determined to keep walking that crazy line until she gets it right. Of note, the trainer doesn’t think she is an aggressive dog. Just a protector and frustrated dog that is attached to a leash.
Just when we thought the boy had his new form down, he started a weird head movement to third base that sent his mechanics into whack. We spent most of this week, re-grooving and trying to keep the head as silent as possible. 95% of the top MLB pitchers have no head movement or glove shift. It makes sense because their eyes are perfectly straight to target. Head movement is the enemy of a good pitcher. Thankfully, as the week has passed, Zachary is getting that head more silent…not perfectly silent, but better than the start of the week. Growth.
Finally, we are starting to see growth in the gardens. Mommy’s daffodils and tulips are starting to poke through the ground. The weather really rebounded this week, with temperatures in the 70s. Warm sun, nice breeze made the days ideal. And most importantly, my morning runs are finished with the sounds of birds starting their day. Renewal and growth are all around us.
