Week in Rewind

It’s been a really rinse and repeat type of week. Not much happening on the home front.

Monday: the boy got word that his virtual batting gear has been shipped. We’re really excited to try it out. With the Occulus, the player gets inside the video and is able to bat against real pitchers. Lucky for us, they expanded to include youth, otherwise, Zachary would be batting against major leaguers.

Tuesday: We were on another zoom call with the Mustard Team. Zachary didn’t submit a video, but one really cool thing did happen. A former college pitcher for Maine was a beta tester too. He went from throwing in the lower 90s to close to 100. Dr. House took notice and got the kid a minor league deal with the Angels. And he invited him to train out in San Diego with him. That’s one lucky kid because he was pretty much out of baseball until that chance.

Wednesday: Someone took notice of himself in the mirror. He sat growling at himself, no less, for about 20 minutes. Prancing toward the mirror, only to retreat when he got close. Oh the agony of not scaring off your evil twin.

Thursday: We woke to more snow. This is getting old really quickly. An overnight stormed dumped around 3 inches. The boy plans to sled again after school. I wonder if this will be the week that we make it to the pool.

Zachary and I also did some hill repeats in attempt to get his legs ready for baseball. We both really weren’t feeling much into it, with the snow and cold weather, but on our second trip uphill….a sight to behold, a stone heart embedded in the pavement. I’ve told Zachary since Larry’s passing that heart shapes are his way of saying I’m with you and still love you. Zachary was the one who noticed it first.

Friday: I’m skipping a head one day, but boy are Reecie’s ears getting long. That seemed to happen over night. Don’t let that face fool you, she has an ornery streak in her that can rival her brother’s.

Sunday: Valentine’s Day. This is one lucky girl with two pretty awesome boys.
