Week in Rewind

It’s been a super fast week on this end. Not a lot of exciting news, but activity nonetheless. This little girl is turning out to be a little dare devil. She hops around the house, constantly wanting to play. I like to call their battles, the Puppy Wars. At the beginning, JuJu clearly had the advantages with his bigger size. But, the little girl certainly has learned to leverage all of those 10 pounds against him these days. She’s quite clever.

On Tuesday, Zachary had his second call with Mustard. We were hoping to get Tom to review his mechanics, but they ran out of time. Luckily, we were promised that he would be first in line for next week. We’re taking all of this pitching advise in like sponges. Each week, he takes about 10 videos and analysis their mechanics. This week, he focused in on a high school kid who had a wide stance, much like Zachary’s. Tom quickly pinpointed it and told the kid to narrow the stance, set up close with your feet and shoulders, lift the leg while starting your tush down hill. That doesn’t sound too hard, until you actually try it. Tom likes to call it the sweet spot in the delivery and the key to timely release. The boy was all over it and has spent all week working. It’s really cool to watch the transformation. You can clearly see in videos his little tush starts moving downhill the moment the leg comes up, so he’s getting closer to perfecting the sweet spot.

In another note, his local coach was a little worried how far back his arm goes at the top of his delivery. That was on Tuesday night, by Wednesday morning, he texted to say I may have been wrong. He then broke down Zachary with a Phillies pitcher, frame by frame. The scary part, Z was pretty much spot on with that pitcher. Stay tuned the work continues.

My big boy has also had a busy week. Walks in the park in freeze weather. Chasing his sister. Eating, eating, eating. As the vet said, he just may be a foodie, finer words could not have been spoken. He wolfs down his meals in a matter of seconds and then tries to pillage any near by bowls. This week, he was completely konked out on the sofa. I stealthily attempted to get up and go the kitchen for a snack. When I turned around, I was treated to this look. It’s as if he’s saying: nice try, I know what you are up to!

Finally, this week, we started our trip planning for out west. It’s been an adventure just trying to figure things out. With that said, the plan is starting to take shape with a big thanks to Mom Mom and Pop Pop. We’re super excited to take RVs out to Yellowstone and surrounding areas, with both sets of grandparents for Zachary. I think we’re going to have some pretty funny memories with this group.
