I’m not sure how it happened, but somehow we officially are in November. October blew by us in an instant, leaving us ready to brace for early sunsets and winter weather.
Covid Halloween was a bit of a bust. Zachary didn’t want to dress up and go around the neighborhood. So, we opted to watch a “scary” movie instead. With so many options, we went with a traditional, Halloween. Funny, but I remember it being so much scary when I was a kid….but it seems that 70s scary really doesn’t translate with these modern kids. So after about 10 minutes of the movie, daddy suggested Aliens. Yes….not necessarily Halloween, but definitely scary. Okay, it really does seem that 70s scary doesn’t live up to today’s standards. Long suspense, menacing soundtrack, slow moving plots, really stupid decision making….yay, it was a little slow. And for the record, the boy was Bryce Harper for his school Halloween day.
Last week, we finally picked up our grass fed meat. In the initial stages of the pandemic we placed an order with a local farmer. Months went by with no response as we were placed on a waiting list. Finally, at the beginning of October, we got the call. Our meat was ready. So off we went to Sicklerville Farm. We couldn’t have been happier with our 1/8 share. The meat is amazing….but the farm is special.
A younger couple bought it and decided to go organic. They are self sufficient with their feed, have cows, pigs and chickens. Lucky for us, the wife gave us a brief tour. I think the cows took a liking to Zachary. Ha!
We continue to wait for the pups. We were originally supposed to pick them up this weekend. But when we called, the breeder told us it would be another week, as JuJu was still too small for his booster shots. I’m not going to lie, we were disappointed. It’s supposed to be an absolutely gorgeous weekend. It would have been nice to have them and introduce to Bella and Mattie.
We did our end of season walk on the beach with the pups. The majority of the year, they are not allowed beach access, but once Autumn comes–so do the dogs. You may notice that Mattie is on a leash. After last year’s great escape that one will never be off leash again. Thank goodness of the dead crab–or she still may be running. So many things, to see and smell. The pups love the beach.
Finally, Mom Mom recently celebrated a birthday. We hope her day was special. She means the world to us. And Zachary is super lucky to have her in his life. Thanks for always showing him unconditional love and being there for him…..through the heat of summer and cold of fall. Wishing you many more birthday celebrations. We love you.
