Champions

Two weekends ago, Zachary played in his final baseball tournament of the season. I’m not going to lie, it was a long season. With Covid, we started late and then played consistently from March until October.

Through that time, the team and Zachary got better. In fact, the boys won 2 out of three of their last tournaments. Good stuff. And Zachary continued to improve. He changed his swing, which gave him much more power. Two home runs this year. He played second most of the year until our third baseman became our catcher. Z filled it at 3rd admirably. Pitching is still a work in progress….with some up days and others not so good. Overall, we’ll take it.

The best part, his teammates are awesome. It’s fun to watch them pal around between games. That was our big unknown going into this year. Z switched to this team only knowing one other kid. By the end of the season, they all became great friends. Valuable lesson that taking risk can have great rewards.

At the age of 10, Number 23 never looked so good.
