OC Birthday Weekend

Last weekend, we celebrated two birthdays, Zachary who turned 10 (gulph) and my mom who turned 23. It was nice that they came the day before his birthday to be with him. It certainly made his day.

This year was definitely different. We were one of the only that had mask on at the beach. We also socially distanced ourselves from everyone else. But we had fun nonetheless

Pizza from Manco’s. This was a big deal you all. It was the first time, we have eaten out. We ordered a half baked pizza and brought the pizza stones down with us. We had quiet the production line going because the stones were too small. Three large pizzas later and we had a happy and full family.

Next up the beach. We took two trips down to the beach this trip. Water was perfect, a refreshing cool but not too cold. The boys boogie board while we sat and enjoyed the view. We also played some spike ball. It really becomes obvious who has athlete ability and how bad we really are at it. In the end, we just bumped the ball back and forth to each other.

Ocean City may have cancelled their fire works, but that didn’t mean we didn’t have many to watch. We headed up to the rooftop and enjoyed a panaramic display. The boys also found a group of girls (Cam’s age) on the rooftop a few doors down. Zachary quickly became Cam’s wing man. And with each passing of a good looking girl, he would say…look at that “bomb”. Oh boy, when did girls enter the picture, lol

The boys started the boat trip with some tubbing. Now, Cam jumped at the chance to the do….Z took a little more convincing. But when you’re older cousin encourages you…suddenly you find yourself on a tube being pulled by a boat. When the driver asked should I go faster, Z gave a “I guess so”…which was pretty funny. They had a blast and didn’t fall in the water.

The best part for me, was getting to experience the ride with my family. My dad was initially apprehensive, worried that he would get sea sick, but he finally relented and it made for a fun life.

My Uncle Dick also was able to go with us. He used to own a boat so it was neat to see how happy he was on the water. We toured the Bay and got to see beautiful homes from a water perspective.

We ended the night watching the sunset over the bridge. It was simply a perfect night. We are incredibly blessed to have wonderful family that make Zachary’s life enriched.
