Baseball

Our weekends for the past few weeks have been all about basketball and baseball.

Zachary is in week 4 of a 6 week pitching clinic.  Boy are we glad to have signed up for it.  They have completely transformed his wind up. He now looks more like Roy Holliday’s mechanics   Lucky for the boy he is incredibly flexible so that he can get that big leg kick…now he just needs to get comfortable with it

And most importantly, they are addressing his weaknesses.  The boy has a tendency to drop his shoulder and twist his wrist to achieve speed.  He’s been working hard on both.  It’s slow progress but hopefully it pays dividends this season.

Two weeks ago the head coach couldn’t make it.  So his Assistant took the time to teach them a change up.  We laughed last weekend when coach said “I’m gone one week and he’s teaching them change ups”.  It’s a cool pitch that drops at the last minute.  If the boy can master it, should be an asset.

Progress begins in the offseason.  And so far, the boy has been putting in the work.
