Baseball

Its been awhile since we’ve had any baseball updates.  For the past couple of years, the boy has pitched with training in the form of Tom House videos.  And while he did an okay job, we knew this year he really needed mechanic lessons.  After much searching, we settled on a pitching clinic in Wilmington.

Last Sunday was his his first official week of a six week stint.  We came home happy.  They did really solid drills, two of which focus on Zachary’s Week spot, proper wrist release and getting down.

What made this mommy the happiest is when the coaches talked to him and said he’s a natural due to his flexibility and has potential. He then asked three times, where do you play?

I remember when I played. It feels good to hear your parents say you’re great, but coming from an outsider…and especially a coach…well, that’s motivating.  And that’s all he could talk about on the way home. If nothing less, it gave him a shot of confidence.  Pretty cool stuff for an eight year old kid
