im not sure where 2018 went, but we said goodbye to it. This year, we headed down to Ocean City to try their First Night. The one thing that has impressed us is this little beach town does a lot for their community and Nee Year was no different.
With seven event locations, there was many activities for both kids and adults alike. The rain may have put a slight damper on outdoor ice skating, but they moved it inside and the boy slipped and slided his way along the rink.
We then then headed across town to Salazar the Musician. I can tell you someone was quiet enthralled and with front row seats, he got to be part of the show.
The dog show was up next. Unfortunately, we were late to arrive and had pretty bad seats, but the boy was entertained.
Mommy was more interested in the band that played immediately following. They played three decades of music from the 60-80s and were quiet good. At first, the boy sat contently next to us, but as the music took his soul, he murmured to me “I really want to go dance, but I’m scared’. I quietly told him. Sometimes things in life can look scary, but once you tackle that fear, it’s really a blast on the other side. He nodded and sat for a bit longer and then suddenly bolted down the stairs to the dance floor. I’m not really sure if it was my words or the cute blonde but the boy danced his butt off.

And no, we didn’t make it to midnight, but we put a full night in the pouring rain…in the Happiest Small Town in America.
