Last weekend, we spent our days at the ballpark. Saturday’s game was a surprise, considering they were calling for rain all day long. We woke to a cold dreary day, but no rain. So off we went at 8:30.
It was a close game against the Legends. One kid in particular did all of the damage: grand slam and two crushing home runs. With the game 6-4, they called Z up to pitch. Monmy’s nerves were a mess. The boy calmly took the mound and struck out two of the three. Whew. Game 1, a win
Game 2 was also a thriller. We beat the Senators 13-0. No pitching for Z with the game in hand, but the boy went 2-3
Sunday brought a new day, that was bright, sunny and hot. With the 1st game, we beat the Rams in another close one 6-4. Again, they brought in Z to close it. He struggled his way to a strike out and 2 walks…but made an awesome play in the field to help himself
For the Tourney final, we played the other All Out Team. This is a team that we’ve never lost…but the gap is closing fast..and mommy was worried about the law of averages coming at us…you can’t win forever.
This game was another nail biter. Z was 3-4 with his hitting and with the game close, 7-4, they brought Z in to close it. First batter was a walk, ugh. But he settled in to get the last two outs. The boy is built for these moments.
With the victory, we became Tourney Champs. This is a fun team to watch. I love watching the hard work pay off…and all of the fun they have doing it
