State Karate Championship

Laat weekend, Zachary competed in the Stare Championship in karate. It was an action packed day that  started with breaking.  He did a jump elbow, outside to inside ax kick, and flying jump kick.  He broke the first two, but missed on the jump kick so didn’t place.

He then competed in forms, doing Form 6.  He took 2nd place  but he looked really good.  Forms is his sweat spot

But the real kicker was his 1st place finish in weapons  he did the bow in age 8 and under.  All of those weeks of extra practice paid off.  The boy nailed it.  And he went home with a trophy bigger than him.

So proud of him.  In the morning, he told me that he wanted to win two trophies for Uncle Dick and Larry.  I went through the standard spill about no need to win trophies, they know you love them. But that didn’t deter him, his first words to me, I did it

The bling didn’t stop there. The next morning, daddy placed 1st overall in the Cesar Rodney 5k, with a police escort to the finidh line. He too had Uncle Larry on his mind.

So proud of both of my boys and I know Larry is smiling from heaven:
