This week, mommy visited the little guy’s class for parent participation day. We have an awesome teacher. She had a fashion show where the kids wore different customs and had to get up in front of everyone to describe them. So in other words, the boy got his first exposure to public speaking.
I wasn’t sure how he would react. He did mention, as he got on the bus, I’m scared but then ran up the steps seemingly without any concerns. That changed as we watched one after another kid get up and do their part. He came into the room with Take Me Out to the Ball Game, which the class sang. And promptly showed off his throw and batting skills.
But when the big speaking moment came, he looked like a deer in the headlights. I actually became concerned when he even wouldn’t look at me. But then…the quick look to mommy for assurance and he began….and nailed it! You could see the tension melt away as he finished. So proud of him. And I love the teacher for putting them out of their comfort zone. You could see the happiness the entire class had and it was awesome
